In Pain & Relief for the Hostages & Israel

Friday, 24 January, 2025 - 2:34 pm

Like so many of you, my stomach is turning, and I am filled with pain, anguish, disgust and relief all at the same time.

First and foremost, relief for the hostages who will finally come back to the loving embrace of their families or whose family members will finally know their fate, including Agam Berger, who I am touch with the parents, and Ofir Calderon, who we are in touch with his family members, and so many others.

In pain and anguish for the emotional torture that they are all still going through and the nightmare that they are living, and because unfortunately, some of the hostages are no longer alive.

In pain and anguish, to see two hundred terrorist murderers with blood on their hands be released who are most certainly planning even more evil atrocities, along with the hundreds of other terrorist commanders, who will be joining them.

In pain and anguish for the many hostages who will be left behind, including Yosef Ohana who I am in touch with his father Avi several times a week, and one can only imagine their emotional pain right now, some of which Avi shared with me this week.

The equation of the world, of innocent hostages going through hell on earth, to terrorists who murdered men, women and children, is sickening and morally rotten to the core.

In the last 72 hours I have been in touch with three of the families of the hostages. The heartbreak, tears and exhausted voices say it all.....  and the one thing they all ask for is to pray.

They pleaded with us to please encourage people to pray and say a Psalm and pray for the release of all the hostages and an end to all the suffering.

I have spoken with IDF soldiers who have lost friends and so much more and the pain of this bartering, releasing murderers, and Israel pulling back from critical areas that protect Israel, along with their relief for the hostages, is so hard for them to process.

Israel is a Jewish country and seeks to do everything, to rescue its children, because that is who we are and what we live for....

Bartering with murderers is a sickening and stomach-turning concept, and we hope and pray that this release of murderers won’t bring even more evil and pain to the area.

Let us pray that every one of these young innocent people to be back with their families, and for Israel to fully overcome and end the evil that did this atrocity, and those who enabled it or continue to support it, in the name of warped and corrupt morality.

We do not look to be popular, we look to do what is right and kind in life....

Please say a Psalm for the hostages and their families in the link below.

In addition, when you light Shabbat Candles today, please take a moment to pray for all of the hostages and for an end to the suffering.

In this week’s Torah Portion, we read about antisemitism, as the tyrants in Egypt started blaming the Jews for the current and future problems of Egypt, despite the Jewish people having done so much to save Egypt during its year of famine.

There are so many points of interest that are relevant to now.

“The more they afflicted them, the more they increased and the more they grew”.

“Moshe, complains to G-d how can this evil be happening to your people”.

“The Jewish midwives refused to listen to Pharoah and his pressure to murder the babies, as they had a higher sense of morality and loyalty to G-d”.

The Jewish people decide that no matter what is happening, we need to be strong, maintain who we are and our identity, and focus on the knowledge that we are on a path to a much better future, even if it isn’t happening right away.

May our prayers accomplish what they need to, and may we continue to grow, become stronger, and do even more good, despite the pain and the challenges, and may we be even more resolute to be proud and live up to our morality, values and what we strive to live for each and every day.

Am Yisrael Chai!

Shabbat Shalom & Good Shabbos
